課程概述

「文藝復興」，是一個時代名稱，文化運動，或藝術風格。這個詞，已經變成了一個複雜的概念。課程內容的規劃一般所指的文藝復興時代，約從1400至1600年，在歐洲歷史上，是一段介於中古至現代的重要時期。1492年，是哥倫布探索美洲暨歐洲海外探險時代的開始；1517年，以馬丁路德開啟了宗教改革的年代。這段時期，對歐洲現代化的形成，有關鍵的意義。本課程計劃對這兩百年作一個綜合討論。再者，文藝復興的復古、本土方言、人文主義、藝術與政治、和宗教等議題，對現代人類社會的諸多面向提供了相當有意義的反思，這堂課也會在這些部分提供討論，藉此可以理解歷史學習與當代人文思考之間的關係。
